Kamut® and Khorasan Flour. Molino Favero. 1 kg pack.

Kamut is a variety of durum wheat widespread in ancient Egypt. Its name derives from the word "Ka'moet," which in the ancient Egyptian language means "soul of the earth." Rich in protein, it is easily digestible even for those with wheat intolerance issues. Indications : perfect for making dry and fresh pasta , bread , pizza , focaccia , and desserts . The origin of the name Kamut, as you correctly pointed out, actually comes from a dead language, Ancient Egyptian, and the Quinn family borrowed its use to register their brand for products made with the Khorasan wheat variety. However, "KAMUT" is not the name of a variety of wheat. It is a registered trademark used to market a variety of wheat that guarantees certain characteristics. When you buy Kamut wheat, you are buying Khorasan wheat, also commercially called Pharaoh's Wheat, owned by Kamut International Ltd. (owned by the American Quinn family who registered the trademark) and grown organically (organically).
